Code: SCH/21/23 Lego Based Therapy (ELSA Plus)

Building with Lego bricks is a multi-sensory, open-ended and often very motivating play experience for children.  It harnesses children's motivation for Lego in order to improve their social skills via structured group activities.

This approach can be used with any children with social skills difficulties, including those with Autism.

Lego Based Therapy has a growing evidence base and groups arre now popping up all over the world.  Several research studies in the UK and the USA have found that Lego Based Therapy groups can help develop and reinforce a range of play skills and social skills, such as verbal and non-verbal communication, collaborative problem solving, turn taking, sharing and joint attention skills.

Over the 2 sessions you will learn the skills needed to run your own Lego Therapy Club in your school.
