Code: PCC/20/37 First Aid at Work (3 days) (Cancelled)

The First Aid at Work (FAW) course will alow delegates to act as a qualified first aider in the work place. This course will give delegates the Level 3 First at Work qualification, accredited by Qualsafe awards.

There is no need to attend Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) before attending this course. If you already hold the EFAW qualification, please contact the administrator of the course before booking.

If you are already FAW qualified and need to requalify please look for the First Aid at Work Requalification course. This is a two day course open to people who are appoaching the end of their three year FAW qualification.

Connect 5: 5 Ways to Mental Health and Wellbeing

Connect 5 is an accredited mental health promotion training programme that is designed to increase the confidence and skills of front line staff. The training will support staff to have conversations with people that they work with about:

• Mental health and wellbeing
• Help people to manage mental health needs
• Increase their resilience and mental wellbeing through positive changes
• Provide signposting to local service

Connect 5 aims to support workers, volunteers and organisations in promoting better mental health and wellbeing for the people they work with.

Connect 5 courses are interactive and practical, drawing upon the latest evidence about supporting people with their mental health and wellbeing. The courses support participants to gain skills and confidence and information about practical interventions so as to be able to respond helpfully to people experiencing poor mental health and wellbeing.

Course outline:
Change in our workplace has become the norm as we face new and bigger challenges. When things don’t go as planned, or something unexpected happens, our ability to bounce back, individually and collectively is put to the test. Our ability to handle the pressures of work has a strong correlation with the likelihood of future success. For this reason, it’s important to develop a set of resilience skills. This 4-hour workshop will give you practical techniques to enhance your personal resilience. It will help you develop resiliency skills in yourself and others that enable to you to develop helpful beliefs learn from setbacks and move on constructively.
Who is the course for?
All Foster Carers in their continuing professional development stage or sooner if needed
What does the course cover?
The course examines the beliefs of resilient people, our emotional and physical reactions to pressure and how our default beliefs and behaviour affects our resilience.
The course offers practical, learnable tools and techniques that will help you raise your thought awareness and build resilience in yourself and others.
